چکیده
The effectiveness of two repair strategies, repetition and paraphrasing, in enhancing speechreading performance was evaluated on 20 young adults with normal hearing using both word and sentence test stimuli. Both strategy types produced significant improvement, and the repeat strategy yielded the greatest gains overall. Paraphrasing resulted in the most enhancement for words, while repetition was the most effective of the two strategies with sentences. The inclusion of both repair strategies is recommended in communication therapy with the hearing impaired.
